5 Things No One Tells You About Wearing Makeup

Most people talk about their interest in makeup stemming from elementary or high school and growing exponentially as they got older. While I am somewhat in that boat, I only recently really fell head first into the beauty community online. Before 2013 I only ever wore a bit of mascara and maybe a powder to smooth out my skin if I needed it that day, but other than that I never really understood what all the hype was about. It was only when I started appreciating the techniques that went into application and the formulas that different brands produced that I learned a few lessons no one tells you before you start wearing makeup. Seeing as I’m a very realistic person, I thought I’d share a few of these for anyone else who might be dabbling in the art or just completely unsure why no one else is talking about these issues.

Late Summer/ Early Fall Makeup

As I’ve mentioned many times before on this blog, I’m not the biggest makeup wearer, but I do like to apply it as a calming ritual in the mornings or when I feel like I need a little bit of an emotional boost. Throughout the years I’ve gotten much better at applying it and recognizing which products work the best on my skin during different seasons, so it’s become a bit more fun and experimental to wear makeup than it is a chore or a necessity. For today’s post I wanted to briefly talk about a few of my current favourite products now that summer is coming to an end and fall is slowly creeping up on us. This is more of a daily face, but I don’t have any qualms wearing it on nights out or whenever I feel like it, really.
