If you're as lazy as I am when it comes to makeup then this is the post for you. Over the past few months/years I've experimented a lot with different products and looks. I've given the winged liner look the good old college try, played around with highlighter (a lot), and occasionally dabbled in eyeshadow looks that are a bit more sophisticated than just one colour. However, deep down I am lazy and frugal when it comes to beauty, so I wanted to find a few products that work for me and that I can always turn to when I need to look put together.

My go-to foundation for the past two years has been MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NW20. This colour is a bit light for me in the summer months, but it gets the job done and effortlessly applies to the skin. I've come to the conclusion that I just can't stand liquid foundations. They are messy to apply, won't stay put, and if you have to touch up throughout the day it's virtually impossible. I've decided to just carrying around a compact that easily fits in my bag an can be used throughout the day if needed.
I've tried a lot of mascaras in my day and I can honestly say that the best for me and my lashes is the Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' Mascara. The thick brush is perfect for applying the product to all my lashes and actually giving them some lift. It almost makes it look like I'm wearing falsies when I'm not and it even washes off incredibly easily at the end of the day. I can only say good things about this mascara and recommend that anyone who hasn't tried it yet to go out and do so. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but if it's a great product that I'm always reaching for, I can justify the money because I know I won't be tempted to go out and buy something different.
Doing my brows is only something I've recently gotten into. I was against it for the longest time because the last thing I wanted was to get too invested in something that would completely change the way I look from when I'm not wearing makeup (much like contour). But, there were a few things I couldn't deny about my brows anymore. One is that they aren't very thick and another is that I have suddenly developed one grey eyebrow hair. So, I decided it was time to give this brow fad a go and I'm happy to report that it's working for me and my lifestyle.
The first and only product I've used is the MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set and I've been loving it so far. It's basically a mascara for the brows, but with a finer brush that gets into all the hairs. It's been great for taming any brow hairs that are out of place and adding a bit of colour without looking too intense; something I never want when it comes to my makeup. Simplicity is key for me and this product provides just that.
This one is both my favourite and least favourite part of my makeup. I enjoy it because I love playing with colour, but I hate it because you always have to be aware of your lips when you're eating, talking, smiling etc. So, I mostly stick to lipsticks that I know won't budge throughout the day or ones that I can easily reapply. Most of them happen to be MAC, but there is also NYX 'Whipped Caviar', and Kat Von D 'Lolita II' (although this one is a bit trickier because it is a liquid lipstick). Lips are the simplest way to change up a makeup look from day to night or summer to fall and it's where a lot of my money has gone in the past. However, I've found the few colours I think work well for my skin tone and colouring and plan on sticking with them in the future.
