I won't say I am the biggest movie buff because there are plenty of classic movies out there that I haven't seen, however movies have always been a big part of my life. As an child they helped me develop my sense of humour and obsession with the horror genre and its common tropes, all the while keeping me company and exposing me to knew, exciting worlds.
I grew up as a "TV baby" (very common in the 90's), so being glued to the television as shows and movies transformed the media wasn't strange or necessarily considered a bad thing. Many of my friends grew up with the characters we were presented and references to them are still part of our lives today. That's probably why I find it so hard to branch out and constantly watch new movies. Unlike my boyfriend, who has a list of films he is always checking off, I tend to go back to my favourites as a form of comfort when I'm feeling down or a bit bored. Despite the amount of times I've watched these films, I've yet to grow tired of them and still keep them in rotation whenever I'm out of ideas for what to watch.
Below are a few of the movies that I always seem to think of when scrolling through Netflix. Obviously, there are more that have stuck with me throughout the years, but these are the few that have made the biggest impact on me so far. If you haven't seen any of them yet I'd recommend giving them a watch!
1. Mean Girls
2. Bridget Jones's Diary
5. Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things
6. Step Brothers
7. The Harry Potter series
8. This Is the End
10. Fight Club
